The best way to avoid taking it, the best proven way to avoid taking it is abstinence. If you do not have sex or oral sex you will not be given genital herpes. You may also avoid taking genital herpes if you practice protected sex. You should protect yourself in order to be a healthy person. And you should choose carefully your sex partners to be sure they have no sexual transmitted disease.
